i know there was a post about this before which had to do with DX7 in the game. I am getting "error loading texture MIRROR for material MIRROR" and "error loading GLOBAL material MIRROR" messages when i try to use tpscc v3.0. My only choices are Auto and performance(DX7) all other mods that came with rfactor work fine. Can someone point me to the post on how to fix this problem? Thanks.

I'm a bit confused now. I posted a reply to this once, but it's not here (neither is someone else's reply).

TPSCC is supposed to work with DX7, and I thought we had everything sorted out with it for the 3.0 release.

Can you tell me when you get the error message? Is it in the spinner, when you go into a practice session, or limited to when you go into a race session (where the pacecar exists)?

It happens when i try to go to any track using tpscc v3.0.... If i use a mod that came with rfactor it works fine. I got a new computer with onboard graphics and had to install rfactor on it so i installed the rfactor 1.125 then installed the 1250 then the 1255 update then the 3.0 version.. Should i install v2.0 first? I dont know. Its very annoying... Never had this problem before... My onboard graphics only have 2 options Auto and DX7.. Not sure why but that is my problem.... I even d/l'd dx9 and it didnt help.. Unless i was supposed to extract it into rfactor..

You shouldn't need to install any previous version of TPSCC.

The default mirror.bmp file in TPSCC is 2048x512. That might be too large for your onboard graphics card to handle. You might try creating a smaller scale mirror.bmp file (like 1024x256 or even 512x128) and put it in the TPSCC_2008/AddOns folder (if the AddOns folder isn't there, create it). There doesn't have to be any sort of image on the mirror.bmp file, you can leave it blank.

here are two different mirror files. one is 1024x256 and 512x128 along with a proper named empty folder.
I added the AddOns folder in my main Tpscc directory and tried it out with a new mirror.bmp and it did change my mirror. It seemed to work fine, just not the quality i am used too, thats the problem in running only DX7.

You will need to remove the dimensions from the file name before you can use it.

I think Greenzone has you covered. Still, I'll answer the question.

You can use Windows Paint (or any other bitmap graphics creation software). In most programs, when you create a new image it will ask for the image size/resolution you want. At that point you would type in the horizontal pixels at 1024 (or 512 if you want even smaller) and vertical pixels at 256 (or 128 if you used 512 horizontal). You don't have to have anything in the image, so just save it down as mirror.bmp. You can save it straight to the AddOns folder, or save it somewhere else and copy it there.

If you do use Windows Paint, I don't think the option to create a new image asks for the image size. In that case, just let it create the new image, then select "resize" from the edit menu (or dig around for the resize option if you're using Vista or 7). In the resize dialog, you enter the values (make certain you select pixels instead of percentage) and save it down.
